Ranbar Red SR1610-2, Acid Red 18, is a water-soluble acid azo dye. It appears as a dark red powder with a bright yellow-red hue, exhibiting strong dyeing power to impart vibrant colors to fibers.
Ranbar Red SR1610-2 dissolves in water to form a red solution and is slightly soluble in ethanol and cellulose acetate but insoluble in other organic solvents. In concentrated sulfuric acid, it turns purple and changes to a red-orange color upon dilution. When exposed to concentrated nitric acid, it produces a yellow solution, and its aqueous solution turns red when treated with concentrated hydrochloric acid and brown when mixed with sodium hydroxide solution.
